OUR MISSION: To promote architectural preservation and enhance neighborhood living.
CENTRE PARK HISTORIC DISTRICT, INC.
The Centre Park Historic District, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation organized to promote architectural preservation and enhance the quality of life in our historic neighborhood. The District's historic status was designated by the State of Pennsylvania, and the District was established by City Ordinance in 1982.
BOARD MEMBERSHIP
The Centre Park Historic District, Inc. is a non-profit organization with an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Nominations for membership on the Board are made at the November general membership meeting each year. Membership in the District is required for service on the Board of Directors. In addition, prior volunteer involvement is a typical requirement for election to the Board, given the significant commitment of time necessary for effective service as a Board Member.
The Board meets the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.; meetings are hosted by specific Board members, often in their homes. Some meetings have a limited agenda and include in-service workshops for volunteer board members.
AFFILIATES
Three affiliated groups operate under the auspices of the Centre Park Historic District, Inc. They are the Artifacts Bank, the Centre Park Garden Club, and the Centre Park Block Captains.

STRATEGIC PLANNING EFFORT
The Centre Park Historic District maintains an active Strategic Plan which provides a focus for the organization as it seeks to effectively promote preservation efforts and endeavors to continue to enhance the quality of life in the District. In addition, the District works hard to receive advice and suggestions from neighbors and members. This strategic planning effort is coordinated by board member Carolyn Bazik and Michael Lauter, Executive Director, who work with the Board's planning committee, professional city staff, elected representatives and other civic organizations to evaluate and recommend strategic options for the District.
Please watch for information about periodic neighborhood meetings and fliers about the continuing planning efforts in the coming months. Our quarterly newsletter, a subscription to which is included with Membership in the Centre Park Historic District, also provides regular updates on our considerable efforts.
